Antoine COYSEVOX (1640–1720), after "Virgin and Child," known as "Our Lady of Graces" Bronze sculpture with a brown patina, signed and dated 1670 on the back. Mark of the foundry Thiebault Frères. 53 x 23 cm. A reproduction of Coysevox’s marble model located in the Church of St. Nizier in Lyon. What sets this piece apart is that our bronze is dated 1670, whereas the original marble sculpture is believed to have been carved in 1676. Our sculpture is comparable to a plaster model, also dated 1670, that was sold at the Hôtel Drouot by Pierre Bergé et Associés on January 27, 2021 (appraised by Cabinet Fligny).
