Painting, Franz Anton Weiss (1729 - 1784), Adoration of the Christ Child, Mid-18th Century Painting by the South German painter Franz Anton Weiss (1729 - 1784 Rettenberg). Oil on canvas. Signed centre left "F. Weiss inv(en)i(t) et (fecit)". Depicting the Holy Family with Mary, the Christ Child and the young John at the centre. In the original frame. Frame dimensions: approx. 109 x 74 cm; image dimensions: approx. 86 x 50.5 cm. Very good condition. Conservation and restoration in 2016 by Atelier für Konservierung und Restaurierung AKR Pracher. Featured on Kunst + Krempel in the episode of 22 January 2011. Estimated at the time at between €10,000 and €12,000. Due to the dimensions, shipping can only be arranged through one of our shipping partners or an art transport company commissioned by the buyer; alternatively, the item can be collected.
