Large Magnificent Plate, Motif after Rembrandt, Meissen, Pommel Swords, circa 1820 Large magnificent plate by the Meissen porcelain manufactory. Central motif after Rembrandt “Self-Portrait with Saskia”. Finely framed all around with ornamental decoration. Rim with rich gilding, tendril motifs and heart-shaped cartouches. Blue pommel swords mark with the numeral 1 on the base (after 1816-1830). Diameter: ca. 43 cm. One area on the rim professionally and discreetly restored. Otherwise very attractive condition.
