Hardy, Duchy of Brittany, 49.5 x 59.5 cm. An elegant map featuring ships and sea monsters, drawn by Hardy and published by Johannes Janssonius around 1650; the text on the reverse describing the Duchy of Brittany is in French. Map taken from the *Atlas Novus*, the French edition of which dates from 1646 or 1647. Map enhanced with color; it has been restored along the fold on the back using old, fairly sturdy paper.
