Mirabelle DORS (1913–1991) The Age of Bronze, 1969 Mixed media and casting on panel. Signed, dated, and titled on the back. 60 x 35 cm The partner of Maurice Rapin (1927–2000), Mirabelle Dors was an artist in a class of her own. Beginning in 1953, she exhibited at the Galerie de l’Etoile Scellée, where she met Magritte and Clovis Trouille. An avant-garde pioneer of Surrealism, she created a unique imaginary world, at times magical, at times nightmarish. Her works are now part of the Cérès Franco collection.
