Large plate; Japan, first quarter of the twentieth century. Hand painted porcelain. Measurements: 5 x 47 cm. Large Japanese porcelain plate, dated from the first quarter of the twentieth century, hand painted. The piece combines a chromatic palette dominated by iron red and cobalt blue, a technique characteristic of Imari or Arita porcelain, famous for its balance between sobriety and ornamental richness. The central motif shows a bouquet of peonies in full bloom, symbol of prosperity and beauty, accompanied by bamboo branches and delicate butterflies fluttering in the background, alluding to the harmony of nature. The border features a geometric border in red, which frames the floral scene and brings a sense of visual restraint to the whole.
