Soviet Union Collection of two original drawings on forced collectivization. Early 20th century. Each pen and ink drawing on chamois-colored, textured paper. Sheet dimensions 24 x 20 cm and 17.5 x 32 cm. One of the two drawings probably depicts a "Red Train" with carts from a collective farm. The "Red Trains" brought the first harvest of the season to the state depots. During the "Holodomor", a famine brought about by the Soviet government, these brigades were part of the government's policy of deliberately taking food away from the farmers to make it easier for them to die of starvation. - Interesting works from both a historical and an artistic point of view. - Some creasing in the left margin. Margins delicately browned. Well preserved. Collection of two original drawings on Collectivization in the Soviet Union. Early 20th century.
