Heini Riitahuhta Hexagon Jar Frost Flower Hexagonal jar with lid High-temperature-fired white stoneware, painted gold; screen print / hand-printed and hand-cut monotype; colored glaze on the exterior and interior Signed H 9.3 L 10.5 D 9.3 cm Finnish ceramic artist Heini Riitahuhta creates a decorative world inspired by Nordic nature, where plant motifs and imaginary creatures take shape on simple forms. This hexagonal pot, evocatively titled “frost flower,” combines several techniques: screen-printed or monotype designs, hand-cut and applied to the stoneware, then accented with painted gold. The hexagonal shape evokes the geometry of snow crystals. A small, precious, and signed piece that combines ceramic craftsmanship with a flair for decoration.
