Riccardo Gori (born in 1960) Mirror Porcelain with crystallized enamel decoration Date of creation: 2000 D22 cm Small in size, this mirror showcases the richness of crystallized enamel—a technique in which crystals form spontaneously as the piece cools—within a 22-centimeter frame. The object is as much a piece of wall jewelry as it is a mirror: the small mirror surface takes a back seat to the porcelain frame and its reflections. It can be hung alone or as part of a composition with other pieces. An accessible introduction to Riccardo Gori’s work on crystallization.
