Simone Negri Accadimento #189 Wall sculpture Porcelain stoneware and blue glaze 2024 H61 L42 P7.5 cm Standing over sixty centimeters tall, this wall sculpture is one of the large-scale works in the Accadimento series. In it, Italian ceramicist Simone Negri creates, on a thin surface, a frontal composition reminiscent of a painting, where the porcelain stoneware bears the traces of a single action performed on the material. The deep, luminous blue glaze transforms each fold into a variation of hue and shadow. The work is part of the dialogue between ceramics and abstract painting, following in the tradition of the Italian materialist painting of Alberto Burri and Lucio Fontana.
