299 - Simone Negri

Simone Negri Accadimento #90 Sculpture Porcelain stoneware and blue glaze 2021 H 21 L 31 D 31 cm Numbered 90 and created in 2021, this sculpture belongs to an earlier phase of the Accadimento series, which Simone Negri has been developing for several years. Its low, square format—wider than it is tall—makes it a freestanding piece, to be viewed from above like a landscape. The blue glaze highlights the folds and irregularities of the material and evokes water or the sky. The title, “event,” reminds us that the form results from a single action on the stoneware, set in place by firing.
