Upholstery: Kvadrat/Raf Simons cotton velvet Year designed: 2018 H70 W160 D 70 cm Inspired by the revolutionary creations of designer Kazuhide Takahama for Dino Gavina, this sofa pays homage to the city of Bologna and the thousands of columns that line its streets. With the All Around series, Pierre Gonalons pays homage to two Bolognese icons: the revolutionary furniture designed by Kazuhide Takahama for Dino Gavina, and the approximately forty kilometers of porticoes that line the streets of Bologna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sofa’s design evokes these columns, transposed into the domestic sphere. The cotton velvet, produced by Kvadrat as part of the collection created in collaboration with fashion designer Raf Simons, highlights Gonalons’ attention to textiles and color.
