Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret Standardized N.V. bedroom wardrobe Clarté Building, Geneva, circa 1932 H180 W50 D50 cm In Geneva, the Clarté Building, completed in 1932, is one of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret’s earliest projects featuring a steel-and-glass structure; it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2016, along with sixteen other works by the architect. For the apartments, the two cousins designed standardized furniture, including these bedroom wardrobes, which embody their “standard locker” concept. This piece, in a light green similar to the “light English green” from the “Polychromie architecturale”—a color chart developed by Le Corbusier in 1931—rests on an off-white base and features a tall hanging rod and notches for shelves.
