234 - Tonino Negri

Tonino Negri Chiostro delle stelle Lamp Ceramic H44 L28 cm The title, “Cloister of the Stars,” places this ceramic lamp under the dual influence of architecture and the night sky: a place of contemplation, bathed in light. Tonino Negri plays on the contrast between the solid material of clay and the light that brings it to life, so that the object appears as a small structure by day and as a lantern by night. This dual nature places the piece within the Italian tradition of ceramic lighting, at the intersection of sculpture and architecture.
