Matteo Thun (born in 1952) Vasi da colorare Collection Lamp Partially glazed ceramic Alessio Sarri Edition, Prototype Bears the artist’s studio stamp on the bottom (incised): “Matteo Thun Atelier.” Date of creation: 2015 H70.5 Ø18 cm The collection’s title, “Vasi da colorare,” suggests a game: that of a coloring book where color does not cover everything and leaves room for the imagination. Matteo Thun applies the glaze in patches, contrasting with the unglazed clay, in the graphic and playful spirit inherited from his Memphis years. The tall, slender silhouette transforms this lamp into a luminous column. A prototype produced by Alessio Sarri, a Tuscan ceramics studio that collaborates with designers, the piece bears the studio’s incised stamp.
