Basse Stittgen (born in 1990) Charred small mirror Mirror Lignin derived from wood, neutral mirror 2025 H55 L43 P10 cm The “Charred” series explores the dark, profound quality of the lignin-cellulose blend developed by Basse Stittgen, evoking the appearance of burnt wood or charcoal. This small mirror offers the most intimate interpretation of the series: a frame with a matte, black, almost mineral-like surface that surrounds the glass like a matrix. Made from a raw material discarded by the paper industry, the piece questions the value of materials and their life cycle.
