Enric Mestre (1936–2025) Untitled Wall sculpture Ceramic Circa 2010 H63 L30 D6 cm Throughout his career, the Valencian ceramicist Enric Mestre made geometry and architecture the foundation of his work. With this wall piece, he transposes his constructed volumes into the realm of relief: planes, recesses, and openings are arranged across a thin surface, much like a facade or a three-dimensional architectural plan. Raking light reveals the rigor of the composition. Close to geometric abstraction and Constructivism, the work attests to the maturity of a major figure in Spanish ceramics, who passed away in 2025.
