Simone Negri Accadimento #191 Porcelain stoneware and black glaze 2025 H13 L92 P38 cm Under the title Accadimento (“event,” “what happens”), Italian ceramicist Simone Negri has been developing a numbered series for several years in which the form arises from a single gesture applied to the material: folding, tearing, or sagging. At ninety-two centimeters long, No. 191 ranks among the most ambitious horizontal formats in the series. The black glaze absorbs light and highlights every surface imperfection, revealing the tension between the precision of porcelain stoneware and the freedom of the creative process. A work that engages with the legacy of Arte Povera and informal Italian ceramics.
