8 - Willem Van Hooff

Willem Van Hooff Core Vessel Thick Oval I Brown Vase Hand-molded ceramic, artist’s glaze, double-fired One-of-a-kind piece H41 L48 cm (base 10 cm) Water-resistant In this “thick” version, the walls gain density and the form widens above a base reduced to ten centimeters. This contrast between a narrow foot and a broad body gives the vase a distinctive tension, as if in balance. The brown glaze, with its earthy tones, reinforces the connection to the mineral forms that run throughout the Core Vessel series. A one-of-a-kind piece with a generous size that illustrates contemporary ceramics’ focus on mass and surface rather than decoration.
