In the center of the seat, a panel lifts up to reveal a storage compartment. Its simple construction thus combines two functions in a generously proportioned piece of furniture.The reddish-brown paint remains mainly on the front, the sides, and the backrest. On the seat and edges, wear and tear has largely stripped the paint away, revealing the pine. This contrast between painted surfaces and weathered wood gives the bench its character, while clearly showing the marks of its long use
