Theo Champion – The School The School Oil on canvas. 1930. 45.5 x 37.5 cm. Signed and dated; inscribed on the back of the stretcher, possibly by another hand. (20) A very clearly composed depiction looking into a schoolyard in Oberkassel; the runner, who appears isolated, and the piece of paper lying on the ground for no apparent reason contribute to its peculiarly subdued charm. - On the original stretcher. - Very well preserved; however, slightly rubbed at the edges due to the old frame’s crease. 45.5 x 37.5 cm Theo Champion (Düsseldorf 1887 – 1952 Zell an der Mosel)
