In this 1998 work, Eugenio Simó transforms Bibendum, the famous Michelin character, into the protagonist of a composition with a distinctly pop art style. Depicted with a clean and forceful graphic style, the advertising icon appears surrounded by a multitude of spheres of varying sizes that create an almost hypnotic effect, somewhere between the playful and the unsettling.The stark contrast between the character’s black silhouette and the silvery tones of the composition evokes the language of advertising, comics, and mass culture A visual artist and graphic designer, Simó studied at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Since 1997, he has been running his own studio, combining artistic creation with editorial design, visual identity, illustration, packaging, and graphic communication. His artistic practice combines painting, collage, illustration, and techniques drawn from graphic design, with a particular focus on contemporary visual culture and the mechanisms of communication. In 2023, she presented *Fake Gate* at the Espai Metropolità d’Art in Torrent, an exhibition that brought together works spanning approximately a decade and coincided with the celebration of her thirty-year artistic career.
