MISTRAL (Frédéric). Memoirs and Stories. Paris, Frédéric Grégoire, 1937. In-4, loose-leaf, in a worn folder and slipcase. Bilingual edition, in Provençal and French, with a foreword by Gaston Doumergue and a preface by Joseph d’Arbaud. Illustrated with etchings by Auguste Brouet. One of 50 copies numbered “Annam,” containing 15 full-page etchings in two states, including 1 with notes. Engraved initial letters and tailpieces. A beautiful copy from the first print run, in which Brouet’s illustrations are perfectly attuned to the text by Mistral, the famous Provençal poet.
