GUITRY (Sacha). The Evening of Austerlitz. Paris, Éditions du Trèfle, 1947. In-8, loose-leaf, in a slipcase and case. First edition illustrated with 31 original gouaches by Jacques Ferrand. One of 700 copies numbered on Vélin du Marais paper. A unique copy featuring: - 1 India ink drawing signed by Claude Lepape, mounted on cardboard, depicting the dress rehearsal at the Théâtre de la Madeleine. - 1 press photo showing Sacha Guitry during the play *Vive l’Empereur*. In fact, this play premiered on May 11, 1941, under the title “Vive l’Empereur,” because the original title, “Le soir d’Austerlitz,” had been rejected by the censors, along with a few lines of dialogue. It was not until six years later that the play was published under its original title and in its entirety.
