R811A, Cal. 8541B, Case No. 1963146, Dimensions 36 mm, circa 1969, Origin: Switzerland Case: 18K gold, screw-down back. Dial: Gilded, sunburst finish, applied hour markers with luminous dots and a black inlay, luminous hands. Movement: Automatic. When the Rolex Datejust became the icon of an ever-changing design standard in the 1970s, the Yacht Club model aimed to offer a similar kind of elegance, albeit with a more avant-garde approach. The Yacht Club was launched in 1967 and soon became one of IWC’s most successful and best-selling watches. It features a simple dial with applied hour markers and a date window at 3 o’clock. Inside is IWC’s famous automatic movement, Caliber 8541, equipped with a special shock absorber. The case has a diameter of 36 mm and wide, flared lugs. This Yacht Club is in very good condition and retains a charming vintage character. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good, slightly oxidized. Movement: very good, in working order, cleaning recommended.
