Jaeger-LeCoultre - Reverso Grande Taille Monoface An elegant "Art Deco"-style wristwatch Ref. 270.1.62, Cal. 822, Case No. 1705971, Dimensions 26 x 42 mm, circa 1996, Origin: Switzerland, Original box, Original certificate, Accessories, original gold clasp Case: 18K gold, rotates within its back plate, smooth, fluted. Dial: Two-tone silvered, guilloché center. Movement: Manual. Developed in 1931 for British polo players in India, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso ranks among the great design classics of watchmaking history. Its distinctive reversible case, designed by René-Alfred Chauvot, made it possible to flip the delicate watch crystal inward during play and protect it from impacts thanks to the solid case back. This functional idea gave rise to an Art Deco icon. The Reverso Grande Taille, introduced in the 1990s, applies the classic concept to a more generously proportioned case. This particular watch has an 18-karat gold case measuring 26 x 42 mm and is in good condition. The elegant two-tone silver dial features the Reverso’s signature design elements: Arabic numerals, a railway-track minute scale, blued hands, and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The distinctive grooves above and below the dial emphasize the unmistakable Art Deco aesthetic. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good. Movement: very good, in working order, cleaning recommended. Please note that leather straps made from endangered or protected species—such as alligator, crocodile, or lizard—are used in our catalog or on our website for illustrative purposes only. For customs-related reasons, such straps cannot be shipped outside the EU.
