Rolex - GMT-Master Pepsi (*) A charismatic vintage wristwatch with a "Pepsi" bezel, 24-hour display, and date Movement No. D053384, Ref. 1675, Cal. 1570, Case No. 2980612, Dimensions 39 mm, circa 1971, Origin: Switzerland Case: Steel, “re-cased” using the original serial number, screw-down case back marked 1675 and 1/71, bidirectional rotating blue and red bezel (MKII), screw-down “Twinlock” winding crown, folded “Jubilee” steel bracelet, Ref. 6251H in good condition, end links stamped 55, total length 165 mm. Dial: Black (MKI), luminous hour markers (tritium), luminous Mercedes hands (tritium). Movement: Automatic. This timepiece is an extremely attractive and highly sought-after classic piece with charmingly aged café au lait-colored luminous tritium hour markers. The serial number 2980612 and reference number are perfectly legible, although the font used in the engraving of the reference number suggests that the case has been replaced while retaining the original serial number. The MKI dial is in very good condition but does not match the serial number; however, the watch could be upgraded with an MKII dial. A watch with solid construction that just needs the right dial. The Rolex GMT Master pilot’s watch is one of the most coveted vintage collector’s pieces worldwide; it is considered the most distinguished model in the GMT-Master series. Production began in the 1960s and continued through the 1980s. The watch most commonly featured the classic “Pepsi” bezel with its distinctive blue and red design. However, the watch was also available with a black bezel, which gives it a very elegant and sophisticated look. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good. Movement: very good, in working condition, cleaning recommended. Please note that leather straps made from endangered or protected species—such as alligator, crocodile, or lizard—are used in our catalog or on our website for illustrative purposes only.
