Lange & Söhne - KLEINE LANGE 1 An elegant, very rare Glashütte wristwatch with a power reserve indicator, Lange oversized date, twin barrel, and a 72-hour power reserve Movement No. 15891, Ref. 111.021, Cal. Dial: Solid silver, champagne. Movement: Manual-winding. The KLEINE LANGE 1 (Little Lange 1) was introduced in 1998 in response to the Asian market. At 36.1 mm, its case is noticeably smaller than that of the standard LANGE 1. Another striking difference is the omission of the quick-set date pusher at the 10 o’clock position, which was replaced by a traditional pin-style pusher. The KLEINE LANGE 1 remained in production until around 2004. A distinctive feature of all LANGE 1 models is the arrangement of the displays, which ensures optimal readability since they do not overlap. The design of the LANGE 1 follows a clear concept: The centers of the small seconds, main dial, and large date form a triangle. The proportions of the large date display are also well balanced and reflect the golden ratio. The design is inspired by Johann Christian Friedrich Gutkaes’ Five-Minute Clock in the Semper Opera House in Dresden. Case: good, worn. Dial: very good.
