Dial: Solid silver, argenté. Movement: Manual. When the LANGE 1 ZEITZONE was launched on July 8, 2005, Lange & Söhne hosted one of the largest media events ever—the so-called Timezone Launch Event. Lange employees traveled all over the world to simultaneously present the new timepieces during live broadcasts. Certificates were presented, reading: “This A. Lange & Söhne masterpiece belongs to the debut series of 150 watches made available to participating jewelers on the occasion of the global launch event of the LANGE 1 TIME ZONE on July 8, 2005. The timepiece was personally delivered by an A. Lange & Söhne watchmaker. It is one of an exclusive set of three watches consisting of a platinum, a yellow-gold, and a rose-gold model. — “May the LANGE 1 TIME ZONE be a dependable companion on all of your journeys around the world.” The LANGE 1 TIME ZONE displays the current time in all 24 of the world’s time zones while simultaneously showing home time. A peripheral city ring allows the zone times to be set conveniently with the push of a button. Thus, both times are visible at a glance. The small dial indicates the time in a second time zone. A solid-gold applied arrow points to the city representing the time zone to which the watch is currently set. When the time zone pusher on the left side of the case is pressed, the city ring, the hour hand of the smaller dial, and its day/night indicator advance step by step until the current time in the respective time zone is displayed. This function is driven by a complex 67-part correction mechanism.
