Meißen – 1951 Meißen Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen 1710 Meißen Porcelain, glazed, die Wandung auf hellblauem Fond mit Mohnblüten in Pâte-sur-Pâte-Malerei in Altrosa und Hellgrün. Unterseitig mit der Knaufschwertermarke in Unterglasurblau, geritzter Modell-Nr. "Q 200" sowie Präge-Nr. "20". Provenienz: Privatsammlung Dresden; Ketterer Kunst, Köln, um 1990. Ein weiteres Exemplar wird bewahrt in: Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, ohne InvNr., u.a. abgebildet in: Johannes Just: Meissener Jugendstilporzellan. Leipzig 1983. S. 27, KatNr. 12. Meißen – 1951 Meißen Hentschels Ausbildung begann 1884 an der Meissner Zeichenschule. Vier Jahre später erlernte er zudem das Handwerk eines Bossierers. Zu seinen weiteren Stationen gehörten die Kunstakademie in München (1889–1893), die private, vor allem unter ausländischen Studenten angesehene Académie Julian in Paris und die Hafenstadt Étaples am Ärmelkanal (1894–1895). Die Meissner Manufaktur beschäftigte ihn anschließend als Figurenmaler und Lehrer der Zeichenschule. Mit seinen zahlreichen Dekorentwürfen, aber auch figürlicher Plastik zählt Hentschel zu den wichtigsten Vertretern des Jugendstils in Meissen. Daneben schuf er zahlreiche Radierungen.
