"Wildschwein". Waldemar Grzimek für Schaubach-Kunst. 1955. Waldemar Grzimek 1918 Rastenburg – 1984 Berlin Schaubach-Kunst 1926 Wallendorf Biskuitporzellan. Auf der Plinthe monogrammiert "W.G.". Unterseitig mit dem Manufakturstempel in Grün sowie geprägter Modell-Nr. "1623" und Prägebuchstabe "R". Nach einer Bronzeplastik des Künstlers aus dem Jahr 1955 (WVZ Roters 131). Maße: H. 13 cm, B. 23,5 cm, T. 6 cm. Waldemar Grzimek 1918 Rastenburg – 1984 Berlin Bildhauer, Grafiker und Schriftsteller. 1937 Beginn einer Steinmetzlehre und anschließendes Studium an der HBK in Berlin. 1941 Meisterschüler bei Wilhelm Gerstel. 1942 Rompreis und Studienurlaub in der Villa Massimo. Zunächst führte er eine Lehrtätigkeit an der Burg Giebichenstein aus. 1948 erhielt der Künstler eine Professur an der HBK in Charlottenburg. 1957 folgte er der Berufung an die Hochschule für bildende und angewandte Kunst in Weißensee. 1961 nahm er den Ruf an die Technische Hochschule Darmstadt an. Dennoch hielt er regen Kontakt nach Magdeburg und führte in den 1970er Jahren die künstlerische Gestaltung des Südportals der Liebfrauenkirche in Magdeburg aus. Grzimek hinterließ ein bedeutendes bildhauerisches, zeichnerisches, grafisches und auch schriftstellerisches Werk.
