Osmar Osten 1959 Chemnitz – lebt in Chemnitz Geboren als Osmar Münzner. 1975 Lehre als Landschaftsgärtner. 1980–84 Studium der Malerei und Grafik an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden. Seitdem freiberuflich. 1990 Gründung der "Erstenletztenchemnitzer-Session". 1991–95 Lehrauftrag an der Fachschule für Angewandte Kunst Schneeberg. 1992 Gründungsmitglied des Vereins Kunst für Chemnitz e.V. 1993 Gründung der Agentur für Gestaltung und Gegenteil. 1997 Bruno-Paul-Preis Chemnitz. Seit 2002 Mitglied der Sächsischen Akademie der Künste, im selben Jahr Preis der Dresdner Bank Chemnitz. 2022 Hans-Platschek-Preis für Kunst und Schrift.
