Carlfriedrich Claus 1930 Annaberg – 1998 Chemnitz Als Künstler Autodidakt. Frühzeitiges Interesse für Sprachen (Hebräisch, Armenisch und Chinesisch). Selbststudium der Kabbala und Auseinandersetzung mit den Schriften Rudolf Steiners, Ernst Blochs, Novalis'', Jacob Böhmes, Spinozas und Paracelsus''. 1945–48 Lehre als Einzelhandelskaufmann / Kunsthändler an der Städtischen Handelsschule in Annaberg. Ab 1951 Verfassen experimenteller Texte (Lautstudien und Klanggebilde), im Jahr darauf Erkrankung an Tuberkulose. Claus stand unter anderem in Kontakt zu Ernst Bloch, Michel Leiris, Raoul Hausmann, Franz Mon, avantgardistischen Künstlern in Europa und Albert Wigand. Zwischen 1958 und 1980 entstanden "Phasenmodelle", "Letternfelder", "Sprachblätter" und "Vibrationstexte". 1977–82 Mitglied der Künstlergruppe Clara Mosch.
