Otto Lange, Dresden-Johannstadt– Blick auf Frankes Eisbahn. Wohl um 1920. Otto Lange 1879 Dresden – 1944 ebenda Watercolour auf feinem Japan. U.re. in Sütterlin signiert "OttoLange". Vgl. motivisch die Kaltnadelradierungen "Eisbahn (Frankes Eisbahn)" und "Eisbahn, Klein", um 1922, WVZ Schöhnjahn R 105f. Maße: 43 x 57,8 cm. Otto Lange 1879 Dresden – 1944 ebenda Expressionistischer Maler und Grafiker. Nach einer Dekorationsmalerlehre folgte ein Besuch der Kunstgewerbeschule und anschließend ein Studium an der Kunstakademie in Dresden bei Otto Gussmann. 1915–19 Lehrer an der Kunstgewerbeschule in Bromberg. Danach kehrte er nach Dresden zurück. 1916 erste Einzelausstellung im Kunstsalon Emil Richter in Dresden. Mitglied der "Dresdner Sezession, Gruppe 1919" und der "Novembergruppe" in Berlin. 1922 Reise nach Österreich. 1925–33 Professur an der Kunstschule für Textilindustrie in Plauen. 1925 Studienreise nach Kroatien (Ragusa), im Folgejahr nach Italien und 1927 auf die Île de France sowie in die Schweiz. 1928 reiste Lange nach Böhmen. 1933 Entlassung aus dem Lehramt wegen "jüdisch-marxistischer" Malerei. Danach wieder freischaffend in Dresden. 1937/38 Reise an den Walchensee und 1943 in die Alpen.
