Hermann Kätelhön, Stadt der Arbeit, Mine Bochum. Early 20th cent. Hermann Kätelhön 1884 Hofgeismar – 1940 München Etching auf gelblichem Bütten. U.re. in Blei signiert "Hermann Kätelhön". U.li. bezeichnet "Probedruck". Maße: Pl. 42 x 55 cm, Bl. 46 x 62 cm. Hermann Kätelhön 1884 Hofgeismar – 1940 München Deutscher realistischer Zeichner, Radierer, Lithograf, Holzschneider und Keramiker, besuchte 1903–05 die Kunstakademie in Karlsruhe und war Meisterschüler in der Töpferklasse. 1906/07 Studium an der Münchener Akademie bei P. Halm und erlernte die Technik des Radierens. 1908 Rückkehr nach Marburg und Anschluss an die Willingshäuser Malerkolonie. Die Freundschaften zu C. Bantzer, H. Giebel, P. Baum, O. Ubbelohde und anderen prägten sein Frühwerk. 1917 Heirat mit der Dresdner Malerin T. Plettner. Umzug nach Essen, wo er sein bedeutendes Werk, das Mappenwerk "Die Arbeit" schuf.
