Maße: Bl. 15,4 x 13,5 cm, Psp. 51 x 39 cm. Lucas van Leyden 1494 Leyden – 1533 ebenda Erste Ausbildung bei seinem Vater Hugo van Leyden. Erste, sehr erfolgreiche Kupferstiche und Aquarelle schon im Kindesalter. Nach Tod des Vaters, Übertritt in die Werkstatt des Cornelis Engelbrechtsen. 1521 bis 1525 Aufenthalt in Antwerpen, Zusammentreffen mit Dürer. 1527 zusammen mit Jan Gossaert van Mabuse auf Belgienreise. Danach schwer erkrankt und bettlägerig bis zu seinem Tod, dennoch Fortsetzung der Arbeit.
