U.li. signiert "P. Tübbecke". Verso o.Mi. das Etikett der Vergolderei und Kunsthandlung "Ludwig Heidkamp Düsseldorf" und darunter die handschriftliche Nummer oder Jahreszahl "1962". O.re. in Blei bezeichnet "C. Vogel" sowie u.re. in Kugelschreiber bezeichnet "Weimar Schloßblick". Außerdem ein maschinenschriftlicher Zettel mit Biografie des Malers o.Mi. Wir danken Herrn Stephan Fuchs, Hopfgarten, für freundliche Hinweise. Maße: 24 x 30 cm. Paul Wilhelm Tübbecke 1848 Berlin – 1924 Weimar Studium an der Berliner Akademie. 1873 kurzzeitig in Dresden Schüler von Adrian Ludwig Richter. Ab 1874 Studium an der Großherzoglichen Kunstschule Weimar bei Theodor Hagen. Auf Anregung Paul Baums in der zweiten Hälfte der 1880er Jahre mehrere Aufenthalte in München und der Künstlerkolonie Dachau. 1902 Berufung zum Professor an der Großherzoglichen Kunstschule Weimar. Ab 1903 Atelier und Wohnung in der Gartenstraße 8, Weimar (heutige Abraham-Lincoln-Straße 8).
