Die Leinwand verso mit dem ovalen Stempelung "Paul Foinet (Van Eyck) 54 rue N.D. des Champs Toiles & Couleurs fines" (dieser Stempel wurde 1882 bis 1897 verwendet, Erich Kips hielt sich um 1890 in Paris auf). In einem historistischen, goldfarbenen Modellrahmen mit Eckkartuschen. Dieser verso in Blei wohl mit einem Besitzervermerk "Lausann Demesmaeker". Erich Kips 1869 Berlin – 1945 ebenda Veduten- und Marinemaler der auf Hafenszenen spezialisiert war. 1889 Studium an der Akademie in Karlsruhe bei C. Ritter und anschließend Parisaufenthalt. Nach 1893 Aufbruch zur Rundreise durch Nordamerika, sowie dreijährige Italienreise. Ab 1901 an mehreren Ausstellungen in Berlin, München oder San Francisco teilgenommen. Bereiste seit 1915 asiatische Länder.
