1865–1884. MANUSCRIPT. (SLAVERY). THREE DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE TRANSFER OF SLAVES IN CUBA. All three are folio-sized and bear a 2-peseta, 50-centimo rubber stamp, except for the one from 1865, which has a 2-real stamp and whose paper is also somewhat yellowed. The document issued in Matanzas in 1865 is intended to regularize the ownership status of a slave, which had not been properly reported to the authorities. The document issued in 1874 is a request to transport three of the applicant’s slaves from Matanzas to Havana. The last document is dated 1884 and concerns the transfer of a 13-year-old female slave.
