MARTORELL, JOHANOT: LIBRE DEL VALEROS E STRENU CAVALLER TIRANT LO BLANCH, the first three parts written by the magnificent and virtuous knight... and the fourth part completed after his death, at the request of Lady Isabel de Loric. Barcelona: Marian Aguiló y Fuster, 1873–1905. 4 vols. in large 8º. I: 2 leaves + XIV + 387 pp. II: 2 leaves + 414 pp. + 1 leaf. III: 2 leaves + 390 pp. + 1 leaf. IV: 2 leaves + 418 pp. + 1 leaf. Each vol. has its own bordered, two-color title page. Signs of rust, especially in the first two vols. Four vols. beautifully bound in the Brugalla workshops, in full leather, with leather edges, headbands, raised bands, and gilded top edge, in the Jansenist style. Retains the original covers and foxing-stained endpapers. Palau 156465: “…A beautiful edition on laid paper was interrupted by the publisher’s death in 1897 and completed by his son in 1905…” .
