1537. BOOK. (GOTHIC). [VANEGAS, ALEXIUS]:. [THE AGONY OF THE PASSING OF DEATH, WITH THE WARNINGS AND CONSOLATIONS THAT ARE BENEFICIAL IN CONNECTION WITH IT]. Toledo: published by Juan de Ayala, April 20, 1537. Large 8vo. 3 h. (The first folio, signed +1, is missing) + CLX folios. Text in Gothic typeface, with marginal notes. Some old handwritten annotations. Folio +8 is partially detached. Margins are somewhat narrow, but do not extend into the text block; edges are stained by moisture. Vanegas discusses the transition between life and death, he does not do so in Latin; rather, with the literary quality characteristic of his era, he addresses metaphysical themes in Spanish.
