1532. BOOK. (GOTHIC). BIEL, GABRIELIS:. A GENERAL AND CONCISE INDEX, TRULY USEFUL AND NECESSARY, OF THE CONTENTS OF FOUR WORKS BY THE MOST SHARP-MINDED AND PROFUND THEOLOGIANS... Lugdune[m]: Joannes Crespin, 1532 (in the colophon of the commentary on the first book). Large 4º. 12 h. (sign. aA8-bB-4) + a8-n7 (n8 was b. and is missing) + aa8- mm8, nn4. Unfolioed and unnumbered. Text in Gothic type, in two columns, with marginal notes. Woodcut initials. Each part has its own title page; the first title page is printed in two colors and bears the printer’s mark of Jacques de Giunta, all within a woodcut border, while the second and third title pages bear the woodcut printer’s mark of Vincentius de Portonariis. The penultimate folio is laminated and partially preserved; the following folio is not original. A sheet of parchment has been bound at the end of the volume; it likely formed part of the spine reinforcement in a previous binding and contains a manuscript in Latin written in late 14th-century calligraphy. Bound in period parchment with a marbled finish, with new endpapers. CCPB 144501-2. Gabriel Biel provides a detailed catalog of Peter Lombard’s *Sentences*.
