The Theatrum Sanitatis contains a medical treatise that was widely circulated during the 14th and 15th centuries, intended to disseminate among princes and the powerful the hygienic principles of rational medicine (that is, based on experimentation, rather than magical-religious beliefs) of the late Middle Ages. This codex is a summary of the Latin translation from the late 11th century. The illustrations are part of the Lombard artistic tradition, in the school of Giovanni de Grassi. Includes the study book.
