Irregularly trimmed, with omissions in the text. Housed in a dark velvet slipcase with silver thread filigree along the edges. Contains a passage from each Gospel, with many errors. This is one of the so-called “small Gospels.” It could be worn around the neck like a scapular. [More] DEVOTION TO THE HOLY GOSPELS. Barcelona: Estampería Torras, ca. 1880. With a small engraving on the front cover. Uncut and without a protective case. [More:] DEVOTION TO THE... ID. Housed in a silk case with gold embroidery. 55 x 40 mm, 8 folded pages. Embroidered case; inside, remnants of an old playing card to reinforce the case. [More:] ID. Madrid, Blas de ?, ca. 1900. Engraving of a monstrance flanked by angels. 25 x 17 mm, 8 folios. Covers made of silk decorated with gold thread, a cross with imitation pearls, and a silk bow. No bibliographic data available for any of these editions. A lovely set of four amulet books.
