AN INDO-PERSIAN KHANJAR DAGGER WITH CHASED DECORATION, C. 19TH CEN. An Indian khanjar dagger with its wavy blade chased with foliate patterning with remnants of silver inlay around it, the tip of the blade transitioning into a pointed cone for easier piercing. The curved hilt is composed of steel, with remnants of silver inlay. The blade is kept within a wooden sheath wrapped in green fabric and mounted with decorative brass fittings with foliate patterning. India, c. 19th century. Dimensions: L: 17 3/4 in., (45.1 cm.) Condition: Good condition for age. Koftgari on blade faded. Fabric of scabbard slightly faded, as expected due to age. Hilt tight to blade. Hilt koftgari heavily obscured.
