A TOLEDO GILT DAMASCENE STEEL PLATE, SPAIN, 20TH CENTURY A brightly damascened steel plate with a wilderness scene manufactured in Toledo, Spain by E. Molina during the 20th century. The scene depicts a herd of deer in a clearing, a stag with large antlers raising his head in alert as he protects the herd, with a mountain looming large in the background. The scene is bordered by mythological motifs and rondels with helmeted cameos, the coat of arms of Spain represented at center-bottom. Toledo, Spain, 20th century.
