Susanna and the Old Men, 18th century Susanna and the Elders, 18th century, 70 x 59 cm (h) in frame 88 x 77 cm (h), oil on canvas. This work is a fine painting from the Venetian School dating to the second half of the 18th century. The subject is taken from the Book of Daniel, which tells the story of Susanna and the Elders; however, departing from traditional iconographic conventions, the artist has isolated the scene as much as possible, focusing the entire composition on the pearlescent figure of the woman and her pure, radiant face.
