Collected first edition of Regnard’s plays. It contains: Volume I: *La Sérénade*; *Le Bal*; *Le Joueur*; *Le Distrait*; *Le Retour imprévu*; *Attendez-moi sous l’Orme*. Volume II: *Démocrite*; *Les Folies amoureuses*; *Les Menechmes*. An engraved frontispiece at the beginning of Volume I and nine unsigned illustrations, one of which (that of *Démocrite*) serves as the frontispiece for Volume II. Included with this copy, as is customary, are the first editions of *Le Légataire universel*—one of the author’s masterpieces—and *La Critique du légataire*, works published simultaneously with the *Œuvres* by the same publisher, the former illustrated with a frontispiece and a vignette signed “Le Fèvre” on the title page. A very fine copy, with generous margins, elegantly bound by Cuzin.
