Contains numerous plates from the series plate numbers 1-201 and 317-397, often including two plates on one sheet. Between 1830 and 1835, a total of 251 issues of the satirical weekly magazine were published. After the September Laws came into effect, the magazine had to cease publication because of its persistent advocacy for the threatened freedom of the press. - Eight issues are missing from series 1-103, along with 53 plate numbers; issues 104-129 are complete in text but without the plates; and issues 157-181 are missing three issues and 29 plate numbers. - Uncut. Plates mostly loose, some with foxing, minor edge damage, and occasionally a small stamp on the verso; folded plates occasionally with repaired fold tears. Text mostly with the 'Timbre Royal' tax stamp, sometimes more heavily browned.
