Rümann 2462 (3rd edition). - First German edition. - The illustrations, in which female figures appear as 'flower spirits,' are not particularly appreciated by Rümann, 'for these saccharine-sentimental fantasies are unbearable for all time.' - The models, taken from the illustrations for Delord's 'Fleurs animées,' date from the time of Grandville's onset of mental confusion. - Slightly foxed, front inner hinge cracked.
